An update on thoughts on AI and healthcare
Hey everyone,
I realize I have been talking about AI quite a bit in the past few newsletters and its because I feel we are at a pivotal moment in our technical history where our future will look vastly different from our past.
There is a sense that the world will change in a very meaningful way with AI. With the rise of no code tools, the ability to build and ship software products is ubiquitized to an extent.
The past weekend I built a couple tools with not a single line of code written by myself (I also don't know how to code), a glycemic index tacker (username: demo@example.com password: demo123 ) and a mood journal. (username: user@example.com and password user123). While these both have bugs, they are both exponentially more than what I can do without AI generated code.
The implications of this shift are profound. Equitable access to coding tools will result in a drastic reduction in both monetary and time costs to deploy solutions. This allows for rapid iteration and market testing like never before, empowering individuals and small teams to innovate at a pace previously reserved for well-funded tech giants.
Currently, these no-code platforms excel at creating respectable front-end solutions, with the backend still prone to bugs. As this rapidly changes, the traditional value of purely technical coding expertise will necessarily decline.
As this technical landscape evolves, a new hierarchy of valuable skills is emerging. Curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to connect disparate ideas will soon be more valuable than rote memorization of programming languages. This transition from highly specialized technical skill to broader creative and strategic thinking will surely expand to other industries, especially those rich in complex data and human interaction, such as healthcare, education, and finance.
The future belongs to those who can adapt quickly, learn new systems and thrive. One word of caution to add is that an amazing front end solution with a buggy back end is a recipe for un-secure data and data leaks. There is a powerful tailwind emerging for those providing solutions to these very problems, tools and services that ensure the security, privacy, and reliability of AI-generated and no code applications. This isn't just about patching holes; it's about building the trusted infrastructure for the next generation of digital innovation.
